Two more NFL coaching vacancies filled, and not by Seahawks assistants

One side effect of the Seahawks' success in 2012 is that their assistant coaches have become attractive options for teams looking to replace fired head coaches. But on Wednesday, two more vacancies that had been linked to Seahawks coordinators Darrell Bevell and Gus Bradley were filled by other candidates.

The Chicago Bears hired Marc Trestman, the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes, picking him over Bevell, who had interviewed for the job, and several other candidates.

Then, in a surprising move, Philadelphia landed Oregon coach Chip Kelly, who had earlier said he was staying at Oregon. Bradley had interviewed twice with the Eagles, and was considered a front runner for the job. In fact, Geoff Mosher of Comcast Sportsnet in Philadelphia reported that Bradley would have gotten the job had Kelly not come back in the picture.

These two moves don't mean the Seahawks will for sure retain their coordinators. Bevell is reportedly scheduled to interview for the head coaching vacancies in Arizona and Jacksonville, and Bradley is also going to interview with the Jaguars.
