Arlington: Save the Olympic group to meet
To learn about helping the Olympic Theatre continue operating in downtown Arlington, attend a meeting of Save the Olympic Theatre at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Local Scoop restaurant, 434 N. Olympic Ave.

Everett: Heatherwood band Portland-bound
Heatherwood Middle School's advanced band will perform at the National Association for Music Education Northwest Conference Feb. 16 in Portland.
The band will be featured in a concert hour performance with a large audience of music educators and school administrators from throughout the region. The conference draws music teachers and college students from Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Alaska. The Heatherwood band is the first ensemble from Everett to be invited to perform at the conference in more than 20 years.
Animal shelter benefit concert set for Feb. 1
Everett Animal Shelter's second annual benefit concert is planned for 8 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Everett Performing Arts Center in downtown Everett.
The event at 2710 Wetmore Ave. is open to all ages. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $20 through the shelter, located at 333 Smith Island Road.
This is a fundraising event to support service and programs for the shelter, which cares for and houses lost or unwanted pets from Everett and most of Snohomish County. The event features live music by local band Nigel Mustafa, a pooch parade featuring 25 adoption dogs from the shelter and a meet-and-greet with the dogs. Master of ceremonies is Lee Dart, morning host at Classic Country 1520 KXA.

Marysville: Craft show vendors needed
The Ken Baxter Community Center, 514 Delta Ave. in Marysville, is looking for vendors for its Spring Craft Show on April 13.
Quality hand-made gifts are expected to be for sale at the event, including spring and Mother's Day items, gifts for pets and children, hats, tutus, stained glass items, jewelry, plants, garden items and wood crafts.
The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Glacier Peak High School and the Valley View Middle School jazz bands plan to perform for a swing dance set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the high school, 7401 144th Place SE.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students with ASB cards.
Free swing dance lessons are offered from 6 to 7 p.m.
