Seattle man guilty in Marysville home invasion robbery

EVERETT -- A Snohomish County jury only needed two hours Friday to convict a Seattle man for his part in a 2011 home invasion robbery in Marysville.

The two-week trial of Ronald Richard Brown, 48, ended in guilty verdicts on all seven felony charges. Jurors also found that Brown was armed with a deadly weapon during the commission of the crimes, which included kidnapping and robbery. Brown faces 35 years in prison just for the use of a gun during the home invasion. He's looking at decades more for the underlying convictions. Brown is scheduled to be sentenced in March.

Prosecutors alleged that Brown, whose nickname is "Mountain," led a home invasion robbery to retaliate against two men who ripped off a drug dealer working for him earlier in the day.

A Marysville couple was held at gunpoint as a heavily armed crew attempted to track down the two men at the couple's home. The invasion came to an abrupt end after someone in the crew mistook one of their own for a rival and fired a shotgun.

Patrick Buckmaster, 30, was shot in the head after he walked into the house wearing a hockey mask. His body was discovered later in a shallow grave in east Snohomish County.

Nearly a dozen men were implicated in the robberies. Two men, including the alleged shooter, are scheduled to go to trial in June. The rest have pleaded guilty or been convicted at trials.
