Create tote bags: Bring your sewing machine or serger, some basic sewing tools and help the Snohomish County Clothing and Textile Advisors sew large tote bags for foster children brought to Safe Place, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in a classroom behind the WSU Extension Office at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
Children use the totes to carry their possessions as they begin their move through the foster care system, so they don’t have to carry belongings in garbage bags.
There will be plenty of supplies and eye-catching print fabric provided for the totes. Arlene Harrison will lead the project. Bring a brown bag lunch.
