Military spouses, service members and veterans are invited to attend the 2013 Military Spouse Symposium, "Keeping a Career on the Move," hosted by the Military Officers Association of America.
The free symposium is to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 8 in Philip Hall at the Tacoma campus of the University of Washington, 1918 Pacific Ave. A free lunch is offered during the afternoon sessions.
Military spouses looking for a job or preparing for a future career will find workshops, experts and employers who can help. Five-minute resume critiques will be available throughout the day.
The events begins with a panel of employers that includes representatives from Amazon and USAA talking about the "Five Things Employers Want You to Know."
Other topics include networking, education options, working from home and managing home and career while married to a spouse in the military.

Northwest Navigator to cease publication
The Northwest Navigator weekly newspaper is scheduled to print its final edition March 29.
The final edition marks the end of official Navy print news for Navy Region Northwest, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island and Naval Station Everett.
The Northwest Navigator, which is printed by the Kitsap Sun and formerly printed by Sound Publishing Co., won awards for production and reporting. The decision to stop publication was made as a Navy-wide cost-savings measure.
"This was a tough headquarters decision in a belt-tightening world," said Sean Hughes, public affairs officer at Navy Region Northwest, in a statement released Friday. "We'd like to thank everyone who made the Northwest Navigator a part of their lives, the outstanding publishers we've worked with over the years, and all of those who helped us share the stories of our fleet, fighters and families."
Official Navy news and information will continue to be available in several formats, Hughes said, including on Navy social media pages (Facebook and Twitter), websites and in internal command employee newsletters.
