The mayor of Sacramento on Tuesday introduced the first part of his four-step plan to keep the California city's NBA franchise from decamping to Seattle.
If Seattle's experience in 2007 is any guide, step No. 4 will be the burning in effigy of NBA Commissioner David Stern.
Lip dub: A spokeswoman for the U.S. Marine Board says Beyonce lip-synced her performance of the national anthem at President Barack Obama's inauguration Monday.
The claim was later walked back, but Obama critics contended that the alleged fake performance calls the legitimacy of his presidency into question.
Where's the caviar? It was a glittering scene Monday at the Commander in Chief's Ball in Washington, as Jennifer Hudson serenaded the president and first lady as they twirled across the dance floor to "Let's Stay Together." But the party nosh wasn't exactly A-list: pretzels and Cheez-Its, reports the Washington Post.
Sounds like the Beltway crowd got a taste of the austerity they've been demanding for the rest of the nation.
