Join in family event at Everett school

Forest View Elementary PTA presents safety, fitness and nutrition activities Friday night for south Everett families.

EVERETT -- South Everett families are invited to a free night of activities on Friday at Forest View Elementary School.
The "Family Health and Safety Night" is to start at 6:30 p.m. at the school, 5601 156th Street SE, in the Seattle Hill Road area. Activities will focus on safety, fitness and nutrition. The event is organized by the Forest View Parent Teacher Association, coordinator Connie Baldwin said. All of the activities, including more than 25 informational booths, are aimed at families with school-age children. "We welcome anyone from the local community," she said.
There will be free samples of healthy food and drinks. Smoothies will be sold for $2. The event is expected to wrap up with sports demonstrations, including fencing, self-defense and jump-roping. There also will be a raffle with door prizes.
