Camp Fire candy
Camp Fire candy has been a long-standing tradition in Snohomish County, dating back to the 1930s.
Every January and February, Camp Fire kids and their parents set out around the county to sell mints, caramel clusters, Almond Roca, P'nuttles and trail mix.
"The phone at our office has been ringing a lot with people anxious to get their favorite candy" said Michael Deal, director of operations at Camp Fire's Snohomish County Council's office, in a press release.
The candy sale officially begins today and lasts through Feb. 18. The proceeds of the candy sale go to support programming and Camp Killoqua, a 185-acre outdoor camp that offers an outdoor camp experience to kids from all over.
Each box of candy is $5. The children earn credit based on how much they sell. Kids can pay for a week at Camp Killoqua by selling a certain amount of candy.

EvCC blood drive: Everett Community College Student Activities Health/Wellness Program and the Puget Sound Blood Center are hosting a blood drive at EvCC on Feb. 5 and 6.
The blood drive is from 8:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. in EvCC's Henry M. Jackson Center Wilderness Auditorium.
To make an appointment to donate, sign up at Student Activities in Parks Hall, room 209, or call Student Activities at 425-388-9561. Walk-in donors are also welcome.
Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St., is two blocks west of Broadway, between 10th and Tower streets.
