LYNNWOOD — A man was rushed to a Seattle hospital Friday after his motorcycle was rear-ended by a car along southbound I-5 in Lynnwood.
The car’s driver, a 22-year-old man, was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
The crash was reported about 4:15 p.m., said trooper Mark Francis with the Washington State Patrol.
The motorcyclist saw traffic congestion ahead and had slowed down, Francis said.
The driver of a car in an adjacent lane was going too fast for conditions, though. The car swerved into the motorcyclist’s lane, striking him.
The motorcyclist suffered possible internal injuries and broken bones, Francis said. He was alert and conscious.
The motorcyclist was wearing full safety gear, which likely prevented more serious injuries, Francis said.
His age was not immediately available.
The crash backed up traffic for miles.
