WENATCHEE -- A Wenatchee woman suffered bite wounds to an arm and other parts of her body in an attack by a pit bull dog in her home.

Police say the dog belonged to a member of her household and was in the basement Wednesday when she went to check on it and was attacked.

The Wenatchee World reported that officers with the Wenatchee Valley Human Society asked police for help. The dog was stunned with a Taser and then killed because it was so aggressive.

The 43-year-old woman is in satisfactory condition Thursday at Central Washington Hospital.
