Mountlake Terrace girls shock first place Shorewood

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE -- Mountlake Terrace hit 8 of its last 10 free throws and outscored Shorewood 33-24 in the second half to take down the Wesco 3A South leader. Samantha Romanowski paced the Hawks with 23, had three 3-pointers and was 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Maddy Kristjanson had a double-double for Mountlake Terrace, scoring 11 with 10 rebounds and five assists. The win is the Hawks' fourth league victory.

Masha Shtikel and Lily Gustafson led Shorewood. Shtikel scored 17 and Gustafson 13.
