Snohomish County sheriff's detectives were investigating a suspicious death discovered late Saturday afternoon southeast of Lake Roesiger.

Authorities initially responded to a 911 call about a burned-out vehicle and found the body nearby, sheriff's Lt. Susy Johnson said.

The vehicle was backed into some trees on private property along the 7300 block of Woods Creek Road.

Detectives were unsure how the person who died was connected to the vehicle and the property, Johnson said.

The sheriff's office Major Crimes Unit was investigating.
