Girls bowling: West Central District Tournament

TACOMA -- Kayla Zabel rolled a 196 average, second highest in 4A, and the Cascade girls bowling team finished in third place at the West Central District Tournament held at Pacific Lanes in Tacoma to advance to state.

Everett's Candice Goldfinch, who was the top bowler in 3A with a 218 average, and Brittany Ralston (181) each qualified for state individually. The Seagulls finished in fifth place, failing to advance to state by just 10 pins.

The state tournament will be held next Friday and Saturday at Narrows Plaza in Tacoma.
