Just like olde times at Monroe Medieval Faire

Above, Fred Foster (left) of Portland, Ore., and Erick Black, of San Francisco, do battle in the heavy combat, over-40 tournament at the Ursulmas Medieval Faire on Sunday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. In the re-enactment, Black fights on his knees because he has received a damaging blow to both legs. The Shahrazad dance ensemble of Seattle also performed for the crowd at the Society of Creative Anachronism event.
