Front Porch: No Mud Fun Run

Fun run
A No Mud Fun Run is planned for Saturday in Snohomish, a two-mile, 12-obstacle course that aims for more smiles than smudges.
Music, a bonfire and a chili feed are part of the event at the Bottega Fitness Park, 16720 Highway 9 in Snohomish.
Runners must be at least 14 years old. Those under age 18 need a waiver signed by a parent.
Races start every half-hour, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration costs from $25 to $35. For more information and to sign up, visit or call 360-217-7993.

Fitness: If winter weather is keeping your kids inside and on the couch, here's a chance for them to spring into fitness. Diverse Boot Camps, run by Al Yenkevich, is hosting a Kids Fit Class starting at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Beautiful Savior Hall, 12810 35th Ave. SE, Everett. The class is free and is open to kids ages 6 to 13. Yenkevich says he keeps kids active with a variety of workouts while making them more aware that fitness can be fun. For more information call 425-330-3398.

Open house: Everett Community College's Corporate & Continuing Education Center returns to its newly renovated facility, 2333 Seaway Blvd. in Everett, this month.

In addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony with EvCC President David Beyer, there will be opportunities to learn about the center's certificates and programs, meet instructors and tour the facility.
The interior of the two-story structure was renovated, including an expansion to 12 classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment, plus four technology classrooms with high-speed Internet connections, a conference room, student lounge, a large meeting area for up to 100 people and more parking.
