VANCOUVER, Wash. -- The Vancouver officer who killed a teenage shooting and robbery suspect has been identified by the department as 44-year-old Cpl. Marshal Henderson, a 15-year veteran of the department.

He's on paid leave for the investigation of Friday's shooting.

Police say Henderson shot 16-year-old Douglas E. Combs of Vancouver in a confrontation in a parking lot. The Clark County medical examiner's office said Monday he died of gunshot wounds in the back.

The Columbian reported that Combs was a suspect in a home-invasion shooting early Friday that sent a man to the hospital. He also was suspected in two armed robberies the same day.

Combs was with another 16-year-old who was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in juvenile court on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.
