Socialize: Benefit aids hockey boosters

The Everett Youth Hockey Booster Club will hold a benefit and social at 5 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center located at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.

This family-focused event calls for casual attire and will include kid-friendly favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs and knee hockey in addition to an auction, raffles, a wine frenzy and other fundraising activities.

Last year’s dinner and auction raised more than $17,000 for the booster club. The booster club provides scholarships to young hockey players who otherwise could not afford to play the game, as well as discounted passes to Silvertips goalie camps. They also buy pucks.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 ages 12 and under, or $60 for a family of four. Price includes an all-you-can-eat hamburger, hot dog and pizza buffet, five raffle tickets and a door prize ticket.

Waltz: Bring sweetie to ‘Vienna’

Lovebirds are invited to a “Night in Vienna,” a benefit dance for the Kamiak High School orchestra program to be held Feb. 9.

The event raises money for school orchestra programs and provides financial aid for many students who attend orchestra trips.

Free ballroom dance lessons will be offered by professional instructors from Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Everett from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by dancing to the student orchestra from 7 to 9 p.m.

There also will be a raffle of a “Sweetheart Romantic Getaway” basket.

Attire is dressy casual to formal, and the community is encouraged to attend. Tickets are $7 for students and senior citizens, $12 for adults, and available at the door or in advance through a Kamiak orchestra student.
