Talk at the Schack: Textile and fiber artist, author and educator Gail Harker plans to give a free lecture called “Awakening the Creative Spirit” from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Schack Art Center, 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett.
Harker is an internationally known artist whose knowledge of color has made her one of the leading teachers in her field, according to the Schack Art Center. More than 1,500 artists have studied at her Center for Creative Arts in LaConner. Forty advanced students are currently featured in the exhibit “Complex Threads” at the center through Feb.16.
Her lecture aims to focus on the way the world supplies artists with a rich panoply of colors, textures, lines and shapes ripe with seeds of inspiration.
