Snohomish distillery festival continues Saturday

Snohomish is still on the rocks, but in a good way. The Snohomish on the Rocks Distillery Festival continues from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Snohomish Events Center, 1011 Second St.
The festival features at least 20 distilleries. Visitors can sample five spirits and purchase specialty drinks from each of the craft disillers.
And because of the change in the liquor laws, bottles of spirits will be for sale, said Carolyn Eslick, the executive director for the event.
Admission is $30 at the door and includes a light dinner, catered by 907 Grill & Lounge and The Mobile Lunchbox, and live music. Other caterers will offer food for sale.
"It's a great opportunity to connect with local spirits customers and enthusiasts" who value hand-crafted local products, said Ryan Hembree of Skip Rock Distillers in Snohomish. Skip Rock makes Nocino, a walnut liqueur, that uses walnuts mostly from Hembree's back yard.
