Oregon dog taken into custody after pizza theft

SALEM, Ore. -- Marion County authorities say a Siberian husky was taken into custody after it devoured a family's pepperoni pizza.

Sheriff's spokesman Don Thomson said Wednesday a Salem woman took her relatives shopping and they bought pizza for dinner.

The woman saw a stray dog when arriving home, but paid little attention as she removed her grandmother's wheelchair from the SUV.

Soon, she heard barking in the back seat -- the dog was eating the large pizza.

Neither the woman nor the deputy who arrived to help could get the aggressive dog to leave the vehicle.

Animal control eventually apprehended the dog and took it to a shelter.

Authorities hope to find the dog's owner.

The dog's collar does not include the owner's name. It does say: "Don't Mess with My Food."
