Prep boys basketball: Oak Harbor 54, Shorewood 49

OAK HARBOR -- Behind a balanced scoring attack, Oak Harbor beat Shorewood in an opening-round game at the 3A District Tournament. JoJo Webster led the Wildcats with 12 points, Chris Hailer and Gabe Groeing scored 11 apiece and Drew Washington and Dyllan Harris each added nine. Taylor Freeman had a game-high 17 points for the Thunderbirds, who were missing leading scorer Josh Hawkinson due to illness, according to Shorewood assistant coach Kerry McDonnell. Oak Harbor plays Mountlake Terrace in a winner-to-regionals match on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Jackson High School. Shorewood hosts Marysville Getchell in a loser-out game on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
