Prep basketball: Tulalip Heritage 72, Mount Vernon Christian 49

MOUNT VERNON -- Kyle Jones, Brandon Jones and Payton Comenote all scored in double-digits for Tulalip Heritage to help secure the Hawks 3rd place in the 1B District Boys Basketball Tournament. Kyle Jones paced Tulalip Heritage with 14, Brandon Jones was just behind at 13 and Comenote had 12. Mark Geertsma of Mount Vernon Christian led scoring with 18. Both teams advance to the 1B Tri-District Tournament which starts Saturday. Tulalip Heritage will host Northwest Yeshiva and the Hurricanes will go on the road to Evergreen Lutheran. Both games are at 7 p.m.
