Prep boys basketball: South Whidbey 56, Coupeville 45

LANGLEY -- Taylor Simmons had a season-high 14 points to lead South Whidbey to a win in the 1A Boys District Basketball Tournament. Nate Henson came up from JV to help keep the Falcons season going, hiting three 3-pointers in a game where 41 of the 101 total points scored came on free throws. South Whidbey, which lost to Meridian in the first round, advances to play at Mount Baker today in a loser-out, winner to Tri-Districts game. Ben Etzell had a game-high 19 points for Coupeville. The Wolves' season ends with the loss.
