Sound Transit sets all-time record

Sound Transit set an all-time annual ridership record in 2012 with 28 million boardings on its commuter trains, buses and light rail.
Average weekday boardings topped 93,000 for the year.
The combined annual numbers were up almost 12 percent over 2011 and boardings on all Sound Transit services topped agency projections for the year.
Sound Transit Express regional buses accounted for 15.4 million boardings, up 13 percent from 2011; Central Link light rail had 8.7 million boardings, up 11 percent; and Sounder Commuter Rail saw 2.8 million boardings, a 10.5 percent increase.
