MOUNT VERNON — Andrew Roozen and Casey Leek combined for 40 points and led Mount Vernon to a consolation-bracket win in the 4A District Boys Basketball Tournament. Nicota Stevenson paced the Bearcats with 13 points and Riley Schelfhout added 12 but it wasn’t enough to keep Monroe’s playoff hopes alive. Winning the loser-out game puts Mount Vernon into the Consolation final with Edmonds-Woodway, 6 p.m. Friday at Glacier Peak H.S. The winner of that game earns their way to a regionals play-in game at the Kingco No. 3 seed on Saturday at 7 p.m.
