Prep boys basketball: Mount Vernon 70, Monroe 53

MOUNT VERNON -- Andrew Roozen and Casey Leek combined for 40 points and led Mount Vernon to a consolation-bracket win in the 4A District Boys Basketball Tournament. Nicota Stevenson paced the Bearcats with 13 points and Riley Schelfhout added 12 but it wasn't enough to keep Monroe's playoff hopes alive.
