All boys and girls basketball playoff scenarios

As the district playoff pictures get clearer it makes it possible to look ahead at regionals. Here’s a look at who local teams could play at regionals for a spot in Tacoma. Regionals will be held over the weekend of Feb. 22-23.

BOYS

Class 4A

Mount Vernon travels to Newport (third-place District 2 team) for the final District 1/2 spot at regionals. The District 1/2 crossover game is Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Here’s the breakdown of regionals:

Jackson (District 1 No. 1): Plays Auburn (District 3/4 No. 6) Saturday, 6 p.m. at Jackson H.S.

Arlington (District 1 No. 2): Plays Bellarmine Prep on Saturday, 4 p.m. at Puyallup H.S.

Mount Vernon/Newport winner (District 1/2 No. 5): Plays Eastmont on Saturday, 6 p.m. at Wenatchee H.S.

Class 3A

Stanwood (District 1 No. 1): Plays Franklin on Saturday, 6 p.m. at Glacier Peak H.S.

Mountlake Terrace (District 1 No. 2): Plays Foss (District 3/4 No. 3) on Saturday, 4 p.m. at Glacier Peak H.S.

Glacier Peak (District 1 No. 3): Plays Rainier Beach on Saturday, 4 p.m. at Bellevue College.

Class 1A

King’s (District 1/2/3 No. 4): Plays Kalama in the first game on Feb. 23 at W.F. West H.S.

Class 1B

The top five teams from the 1B District 1/2/3 tournament advance to regionals. Tulalip Heritage, Cedar Park Christian-MLT are in the semifinals and have already locked down spots at regionals.

Cedar Park Christian-MLT (District 1/2/3 No. 1): Plays Christian Faith (District 1/2/3 No. 5) on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Lynnwood H.S.

Tulalip Heritage (District 1/2/3 No. 4): Plays Taholah (District 4/5 No. 1) in the second game on Feb. 23 at Timberline H.S.

GIRLS

Class 4A

The third-place team from District 1 (Lake Stevens) travels to Newport for the final spot at regionals. The game is Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.

Here’s the breakdown of regionals:

Lynnwood (District 1 No. 1): Plays Kentwood (District 3/4 No. 6) on Friday, 8 p.m. at Jackson H.S.

Arlington (District 1 No. 2): Plays Todd Beamer (District 3/4 No. 2) on Friday, 6 p.m. at Puyallup H.S.

Lake Stevens/Newport winner (District 1/2 No. 5): Plays Davis on Friday, 8 p.m. at Wenatchee H.S.

Class 3A

Everett (District 1 No. 1): Plays Mercer Island in the second game on Feb. 22 at Glacier Peak H.S.

Glacier Peak (District 1 No. 2): Plays Enumclaw winner (District 3/4 No. 3) on Friday, 6 p.m. at Glacier Peak H.S.

Stanwood (District 1 No. 3): Plays Seattle Prep (District 2 No. 2) on Friday, 6 p.m. at Bellevue College.

Class 2A

Cedarcrest winner (District 1/2 No. 2): Plays Port Angeles (District 3 No. 3) on Friday, 6 p.m. at Lynden H.S.

Archbishop Murphy (District 1/2 No. 3): Plays W.F. West (District 4 No. 2) on Friday, 6 p.m. at Tumwater H.S.

Class 1A

King’s (District 1/2/3 No. 4): Plays Montesano (District 4 No. 2) on Friday, 6 p.m. at W.F. West H.S.

Class 2B

Darrington (District 1/2 No. 2): Plays Colfax/DeSales loser (District 7/9 No. 4) on Friday, 6 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace H.S.

Class 1B

The only local team from the 1B District 1/2/3 tournament to advance to regionals is Tulalip Heritage. The Hawks are in the semifinals and can finish first through fourth.

Shoreline Christian (District 1/2/3 No. 1): Plays Mount Rainier Lutheran on Friday, 6 p.m. at Lynnwood H.S.

Tulalip Heritage (District 1/2/3 No. 2): Plays St. John/Endicott in the first game on Feb. 22 at Lynnwood H.S. The District 9 No. 3 will be the winner of Monday’s consolation final.

Mount Vernon Christian (District 1/2/3 No. 3): Plays Taholah (District 4/5 No. 1) in the second game on Feb. 22 at Timberline H.S.
