County detectives get iPhones

Snohomish County sheriff's detectives now have iPhones.

The sheriff's office got the upgrades recently for free from its cellphone service provider, spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

About 40 of the phones went to investigators and detectives, she said. Most deputies are issued a flip-phone or some kind of smart phone.

"There's a lot of really good law enforcement apps out there," she said.
