My heart breaks over the fact that the Hey Marseilles show in Seattle tomorrow night is sold out. They are from here and I have seen them several times before but with a new album on the horizon tomorrow night is sure to be amazing.
On March 5th their new album Lines We Trace will be released. There is a real buzz around Hey Marseilles right now and there really should be. Last month they released the music video for ‘Bright Stars Burning’ which is the first single from the album and it sounds great. If the rest of Lines We Trace sounds like that then Hey Marseilles fans are going to be pretty happy.
Part two of the band’s buzz building blueprint was an album promo video that is possibly the most genius things I have seen a band do in a long time. I don’t know if it was an audition for the next Wes Anderson film soundtrack or if these guys just really love his movies but there is a pretty obvious influence. Either way this is beautiful and makes me want the album even more. These boys are well on their way to being known all over.
