One person hospitalized after Mill Creek fire

MILL CREEK -- An early-morning apartment fire in Mill Creek on Thursday sent one person to the hospital for treatment of possible smoke inhalation.

The fire was reported about 2 a.m. in a first-floor apartment at a complex in the 1200 block of Mill Creek Boulevard.

Smoke and fire alarms alerted the residents inside, said Autumn Waite, spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 7, which serves Mill Creek.

The fire was quickly extinguished, she said. Damage was limited to three apartments. Other details on the victim were not available.

The Snohomish County chapter of the American Red Cross was helping those displaced.

The cause of the fire and the damage estimate remain under investigation.
