Vote for Girls Basketball Player of the Year

Now that the season is officially over it’s time to cast your vote for who is the best boys basketball player of the year. Here’s the candidates (eds. note: The winner of POY and All-Area team is selected by Herald writers and editors based on first-hand observations and the results of coach and fan polls):

Jasmin Edwards, Lynnwood

Wesco 4A South Player of the Year. The junior point guard led the Royals to a 4A South and District 1 title and a berth in the state tournament.

Brooke Pahukoa, Lake Stevens

Wesco 4A North Player of the Year. The senior guard led the Vikings to a fifth-place finish in the state tournament.

Darian Rielly, Everett

Wesco 3A North Player of the Year. The sophomore guard led the Seagulls to a 3A North and District 1 championship and berth in the state tournament.

Masha Shtikel, Shorewood

Wesco 3A South Player of the Year. The senior wing led the Thunderbirds to second-place finish in the 3A South.

Beth Carlson, Archbishop Murphy

Cascade Conference Most Valuable Player. The senior post led the Wildcats to a share of the conference title and a berth in the state tournament.

Lindsay Brown, Arlington

First-team Wesco 4A North selection. The Eagles post led Arlington to a 4A North title and a second-place finish in the state tournament.
