Here’s the candidates (eds. note: The winner of POY and All-Area team is selected by Herald writers and editors based on first-hand observations and the results of coach and fan polls):
Terry Dawn, Arlington, G/F, Sr.
Wesco 4A North Player of the Year. Set school’s all-time record for points in a career in leading Eagles to a fifth-place finish at state
Jason Todd, Jackson, G/F, Jr.
Wesco 4A South Player of the Year. Led Timberwolves to an undefeated regular season and the 4A state championship game.
Josh Hawkinson, Shorewood, P, Sr.
Wesco 3A South Co-Player of the Year. The WSU-signee helped the Thunderbirds to a second-place finish in the 3A South.
Zach Pederson, Glacier Peak, P, Sr.
Wesco 3A South Co-Player of the Year. Led the Grizzles to a 3A South championship and a state tournament berth.
Cannen Roberson, Stanwood, W, Sr.
Wesco 3A North Player of the Year. Led the Spartans to a 3A North and District 1 championship as well as a state tournament berth.
Zach Taylor, Cedarcrest, G, Sr.
Cascade Conference Most Valuable Player. Led the Red Wolves to a share of the Cascade Conference title.
