WIMER, Ore. -- The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission is scheduled to meet Friday to adopt the newest version of a list of dams and other structures that block fish passage and should be fixed or removed.

State law required the list to be updated every five years. The new list has 534 structures and includes a high-priority "top ten" group considered the worst impediments.

The Medford Mail Tribune reported that one of the structures on the last top ten list, the Gold Ray Dam on the Rogue River, has since come down.

Now, two smaller dams along Evans Creek in Jackson County are scheduled to be listed in the top-10 group. A biologist said both are abandoned and should come out.
