Memorial for former Edmonds police chief Friday
Foster, 81, died Feb. 11 after a 26-year-battle with Parkinson's disease, according to the Edmonds Police Department.
Foster became an Edmonds police officer in 1963. He became police chief in 1971 and retired in 1984. He was known for his work with the Legislature on police-related issues, and for advocating for emergency dispatch services in south Snohomish County.
The service is to begin at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. A reception is planned afterward.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation in Seattle.
