Bee, shellfish classes
Learn how to raise mason bees.
Or to gather edible shellfish.
The Edmonds Parks and Recreation plans to host two classes on those subjects this month.
In the first class, instructor Roger Urbaniak will show people how, when and where to safely harvest and prepare clams, oysters and Dungeness crab. It’s from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m March 20. Cost is $18 for Edmonds residents and $21 for nonresidents.
In the second class, hobbyist Todd Brown will teach people how to raise mason bees for their garden. The class is scheduled from 7 to 8:15 p.m. March 21. Its costs $14 for Edmonds residents and $16 for nonresidents.
The classes are at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds. Register online at www.reczone.org, or call 425-771-0230 for more information.
