Southwest Idaho man injured in police shooting

BOISE, Idaho -- A southwestern Idaho man who police say pointed a gun at police Saturday morning is expected to survive after being wounded when four law enforcement officers from two agencies opened fire.
The Ada County Sheriff's Office says the 41-year-old Kuna man was taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where medical staff say his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Andrea Dearden said three deputies with the sheriff's office and a Boise police officer have been placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation by the Ada County Critical Incident Task Force.
Dearden said police received a call at 12:20 a.m. Saturday about a man making threatening statements.
Police found and stopped the man's vehicle at about 3 a.m. with a spike strip, and the shooting followed.
