Lake Stevens’ Edens receives coaching award

Lake Stevens girls basketball coach Randall Edens has been named the National Federation of State High School Associations 2012 Coach of the Year for Washington State.

Edens has been the coach at Lake Stevens for the past eight seasons and most recently led the Vikings to a fifth-place finish at the 4A state basketball tournament.

Edens started his coaching career at Marysville Pilchuck High School and also coached at Burlington-Edison before making his way to Lake Stevens. He was also named the 2012 Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year.

“I work with a fantastic group of talented young ladies and dedicated coaches,” Edens said in a press release provided by Lake Stevens High School. “I really enjoy coaching and have established some great relationships with my players and the community.”
