Ron Cook of Arlington (under the hood) and his cousin Nick Thomas were on their way to Everett on Wednesday when a windshield wiper arm broke on Cook's 2007 diesel pickup truck, jamming the wiper motor. Visibility was too poor to continue without either wiper working, so Cook pulled off I-5 in Marysville to remove the broken one so the other might work.
Windshield wipers will continue to be needed almost nonstop through the weekend, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service
. But so far there's no sign of the flooding predicted earlier this week along local rivers.
