Hometown Hootenanny to celebrate 'Family Ties'

Whether you like the melancholy ballad "All Because Two People Fell in Love" or the hard-driving tune "Black Sheep of the Family," you'll be moved to think about family at this Hometown Hootenanny.
The "Family Ties" concert on Saturday plays on the theme that families that play together, stay together, and the songs celebrate the strength of families, whether it's good or bad or special moments in family life.
In addition to the two songs mentioned, the Hometown band will perform the lovely "Remember When" and some of their originals.
Other guests include The Barela Brothers, made up of brothers Rick and Jim who produce harmonies that particularly suit a variety of Everly Brothers numbers. They also play other country and rock classics.
Also on tap will be Jenny and the Blue Moon Boys, all members of the Ballew family of Marysville, where Jim Ballew is head of the city's parks and recreation department. Singer Jenny Wiltse won last summer's Hootenanny Singers' Showdown, according to a press release.
Then there's the Honky Tonk Sweethearts, husband and wife team Marc and Gaby Bristol, who are joined by friend Dave Harmonson because sometimes friends can be like family.
The show will be emceed by classic country KXA radio's afternoon DJ Stitch Mitchell, who has a wealth of knowledge about country music.
