EVERETT -- The body of a missing fisherman was recovered from Silver Lake on Saturday morning.

His identity was not released.

Authorities had been searching for the man since Friday afternoon when someone living along the lake called 911. The caller reported seeing someone struggling in the water near a boat, according to Everett police officer Aaron Snell.

Everett police, firefighters and parks personnel converged on the area. They found a small fishing boat floating in the lake. The boat was empty.

During their investigation, police officers learned that a man was missing.

Authorities searched the lake for hours. In their efforts, they used an underwater vessel from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. They were unable to locate the man and the search was called off at dark.

Officials resumed looking for the man around 8 a.m. Saturday, Snell said. Everett police divers recovered his body about 10:30 a.m.

The man appears to be in his mid-40s. Police did not release any additional details about the victim.

The Snohomish County medical examiner is expected to do an autopsy to confirm the man's identity and determine how he died.
