SEATTLE -- A storm moving into Washington on the last day of winter will usher in spring with rain, wind and heavy mountain snow.

The National Weather Service says precipitation will move into Washington Tuesday afternoon and continue through Wednesday night with strong winds.

With heavy snow expected in the mountains, the Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the Olympics and central and north Cascades where 2 to 3 feet of new snow are possible.

Forecasters say Eastern Washington is in for the same mix of rain, wind and mountain snow.
