EDMONDS -- Police are investigating a fire and burglary reported early Friday morning in Edmonds.

A smoke alarm went off about 1 a.m. at a condominium in the 100 block of Third Avenue N., Edmonds police Sgt. Mark Marsh said.

Firefighters extinguished a small suspicious fire and called police, he said.

Investigators believe someone broke into the condo while the owner was sleeping, stole items and set a fire.

Everyone got out safely.
