Country singer from Arlington releasing CD

Emerging country singer Jesse Taylor is holding an album release party for his debut studio album “Out Here in the Country.”

The release party is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Skookum Brewery, 17925 59th Ave. NE, Arlington. There will be raffles, live music and beer. Cover charge is $5. To hear cuts from the album go to www.jessetaylormusic.com.

The album will be available to the public March 26, the same day Taylor turns 26.

Taylor, who makes his own brand of original country music, has produced some genuine and honest cuts on this album with the title tune a very danceable track that talks about how people behave “out here in the country.” There’s also a sweet ballad about two boys growing up together and “Talking about Girls,” and a driving tune called “One Chance to Win,” about a rodeo rider.

Taylor, an Arlington native, has done the Pro-West Rodeo circuit and taken his guitar and music on the road, living out of his pickup truck and singing in bars and at rodeos, selling and sharing his music where he can.

Taylor has made good connections that way and has been to Nashville and performed in Hawaii. He recently returned from a trip to Dubai where he was invited to entertain U.S. Navy troops from the USS John C. Stennis and Carrier Strike Group Three who were on leave at the port city in the United Arab Emirates.

The carrier and strike group deployed in August 2012 from Bremerton and have been operating in the Arabian Gulf since October 2012.

The opportunity to travel to Dubai came from a chance meeting while Taylor was performing in Hawaii. There, he was introduced to U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Troy M. Shoemaker, the strike group commander.

Shoemaker liked Taylor’s music enough to invite him to perform for the troops. Taylor took no pay.

“Jesse feels honored to be invited to perform for our Navy service men and women serving overseas. He is receiving no payment for his three performances in Dubai,” wrote Archie Nahigian in an email. Nahigian is managing Taylor’s publicity.
