Prep girls tennis: Marysville Getchell 4, Mount Vernon 3

MARYSVILLE -- The Marysville Getchell No. 3 doubles team of Kristina Mendoza and Cristianna Campbell won a third set tiebreak 9-7 over Mount Vernon's Addi Sager and Jamie Heiner to clinch the Chargers' first match win in girls tennis program history.

Singles--Brooke Emory (MV) def. Marina Ciferri 6-2, 6-3; Savaddy Lee (MG) def. Svea Love 6-1, 6-4; Sammy Wallace (MG) def. Hannah Levine 6-0, 6-2; Abbi Zeigler (MV) def. Jhoselin Flores 6-3, 6-4. Doubles--Ali Long-Elyse Lankford (MV) def. Molly Meissner-Mayra Hernandez 6-7 (9-7), 6-2, 6-0; Kristina Mendoza-Cristianna Campbell (MG) def. Addi Sager-Jamie Heiner 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (9-7). Records--Mount Vernon 0-3 overall. Marysville Getchell 1-3.
