Community roundup: Snohomish lacrosse player honored

    Snohomish goalkeeper Daryia Tagg was named the U.S. Lacrosse Washington High School Girls Defensive Player of the Week for March 11-17.

Daryia Tagg, a sophomore at Snohomish High School, was named the U.S. Lacrosse Washington High School Girls Defensive Player of the Week for March 11-17.
In her first two appearances as a varsity goaltender, Tagg posted a combined save percentage of .615 as Snohomish beat Roosevelt (20-10) and Overlake (9-5).
Against Roosevelt, Tagg made 10 saves. Against Overlake, she stopped 14 of 19 shots (73 percent) and shut out the Owls in the second half.
Tagg's performances elevated her to first place in the North Sound Conference in save percentage.

National champion
Karlie Storkson of Lynnwood was a member of the Westmont College women's basketball team that won the NAIA Division I national championship on March 19 with a 71-65 victory over Lee University (Tenn.) in Frankfort, Ky.
Storkson, a freshman guard-forward, appeared in 34 games for the Warriors. She averaged 1.9 points per game.
Storkson is a graduate of King's High School.
