SPOKANE — A Spokane County sheriff’s spokesman says investigators searching for a missing teen have found a body buried in a heavily wooded area in the northern part of the county.
Acting on a tip, law enforcement officers from both Spokane County and Whitman County searched the area Wednesday.
The Spokesman Review said the Spokane County medical examiner’s office will identify the body. Deputy Craig Chamberlin announced the find.
Officers are looking for 17-year-old Donavin Stapert, who has been missing since March 8. He was last seen at a home in the Whitman County town of Malden.
Three people have been arrested in the case. Authorities believe Stapert died on or about March 7 at a Malden home and his body was moved to another location.
