SHORELINE — Shorewood pitcher Riley O’Brien threw his second consecutive five inning no-hitter and Steffen Torgersen and Avery Foltz each had two RBI as the Thunderbirds improved to 8-0 on the season with a win over Shorecrest. O’Brien, who held Everett hitless in a 17-0 win on March 25, struck out four and walked four.
The game concluded the second annual “Blue Day/Pink Night” to increase awareness to fight cancer. According to Shorewood head coach Wyatt Tonkin, the event’s goal to raise $1,000 was exceeded. All proceeds will benefit the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
