ARLINGTON — Lake Stevens connected for three doubles and two triples en route to a 6-2 victory over Arlington in a Wesco 4A North game, sending the Eagles to their second straight loss.
Vikings junior Rayne Sylvester led Lake Stevens’ powerful display at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI. Cassidy Fifield, Amie Browder and Savannah Fortney all went 2-for-4, each with a double. Jessica Scruggs connected on the team’s second triple of the game and batted 2-for-4.
“They are probably the most improved team from last year,” said Arlington head coach Dan Eng on seeing Lake Stevens for the first time this season. “In the middle of their order they have a lot of power. They’re hitting balls all the way to the fence and to the warning track.”
Lynsey Amundson led the way for the Eagles, hitting a double and driving in a run in the loss.
