Everett Silvertips goaltender Austin Lotz has been added to Canada’s camp roster for the U-18 World Championships, Hockey Canada announced Tuesday.
Lotz, a 17-year-old from St. Adolphe, Manitoba, will be one of three goaltenders who travel with the team to Sochi, Russia for pre-tournament preparations. The tournament takes place April 18-28.
Should Lotz make the team, it will be his second time participating in international competition. He played for Team West at the 2012 U-17 World Hockey Challenge.
Lotz spent the past season as Everett’s No. 1 goaltender. He went 15-19-3-1 with a 3.37 goals against average and .907 save percentage.
