Where were you born? How long have you lived in the Snohomish County area? What do you like most about it? I was born in Seattle. I like living close to the Sound, being close enough to get to downtown Seattle within an hour, and just a few hours away from Vancouver and Lake Chelan.
How long have you worked in Real Estate? I have been in real estate for almost 8 years.
What did you do before that? I worked in the audio-video business for nearly 30 years. Starting at Downtown Tape Town, then managing Pacific Stereo, Magnolia HiFi, and Good Guys stores.
What is your specialty and what does that mean for the people you work with? I think my specialty is just my laid-back nature, ease of conversation, doing what's right, and treating clients like friends, not customers.
What is the most challenging aspect of what you do? Right now, it's making sure buyers have all their ducks in a row, because of the shortage of inventory and the constant multiple offer scenarios. That, and keeping on top of all of the inspections, appraisals and follow through for pending sales.
What is the most unusual thing you've encountered while working in Real Estate? I was showing a vacant property to my clients. We opened a closet door and discovered someone was sleeping there.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home? Make sure you are pre-approved for financing. This is so important right now with all the multiple-offer scenarios.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home? Declutter, touch up paint, clean and landscape the yard. All these things cost so little, yet make such a huge difference in that first impression. Be realistic on your asking price. Even though we have moved into a sellers market, an overpriced home gets seen as just that. Then you're busy playing catch up.
Why should someone choose you as their real estate agent? I have an easy way of communicating with people, know the area and the market extremely well, and will always do what's in the best interest of my client. That being said, there are plenty of really good agents out there, and it boils down to working with whom you are most comfortable with.
What do you most enjoy doing when you're not working? Spending time with family, friends and my dogs, and gardening now that it's springtime. I enjoy summer in Chelan, traveling, and watching the Mariners, Silvertips, Seahawks and Canucks.
