Man sentenced for promoting prostitution

EVERETT -- An Oregon man who was identified as a pimp was sentenced Monday to four months in jail.
Tremayne S. Jones, 29, had been in the Snohomish County Jail since early January. He was given credit for the time he served. He was released from jail late Monday.
Jones pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of second-degree promoting prostitution. He faced up to eight months in jail.
Jones and three women, ages 18 to 22, were arrested in January after an undercover Snohomish County sheriff's deputy visited a website advertising prostitution and posed as a customer.
One of the women identified Jones as their pimp. She told authorities that Jones picked her up in Indiana. She and the others moved across several states, turning tricks and handing over their money to Jones.
Jones has been under investigation for sex trafficking on and off since at least 2005, according to court papers. In one case in Oregon, he reportedly escaped police by jumping from a second-story window.
